In this lesson, the instructor reveals the first preparatory drill for developing target acquisition speed — shooting at an A4 target at 25 meters from four weapon-ready positions. You will learn how to form the essential skill of quickly bringing the weapon to the sight line while maintaining accuracy and full control. The instructor explains that the purpose of this drill is to teach you to transition intuitively, safely, and consistently from a ready position into a firing stance, while preserving all fundamentals of an accurate shot — stance, grip, barrel control, and support-hand work. The drill uses four essential positions: Low Ready — the traditional position angled less than 45°, ensuring safety within a team environment and reducing fatigue in the firing hand; High Ready — a high, compact position that maximizes weapon control and minimizes the risk of barrel grabs in close quarters; Depressed Muzzle — a combat-ready position with the weapon lowered 10–15°, allowing wide situational awareness without losing readiness; No Ready / Patrol Position — the non-ready stance used during movement or patrolling, with the weapon on a sling and one hand free for interaction with the environment.
